Annual Golf Tournament Marks 35th Year, 70th for Community Living Brant

By Deron Hamel

Community Living Brant is hosting its 35th annual Circle of Friends golf tournament Aug. 18 and early-bird registration is now open for the event which will offer lots of fun while supporting a worthy cause.

This year’s tournament will be held at the Oaks of St. George Golf Club in Paris, Ont., with all proceeds going to help support a variety of Community Living Brant initiatives.

“This year’s tournament is exciting as it is our 35th anniversary of the golf tournament and Community Living Brant is in its 70th year of operation,” says Community Living Brant administration and communications assistant Kevin Noseworthy.

“We are hoping to bring back some of the original golfers and committee members and we look forward to selling out and raising funds to support our programs and services.”

This includes supporting people to find employment, continue their education, start a new business, connect within the community, develop relationships, and more.

Golfers who register themselves or their team before May 30 will receive the early-bird rate of $125 per person; after May 30, the fees are $140 per person.

The fees include 18 holes of golf, a motorized golf cart, lunch, a gift, door prizes, a silent auction and dinner.

People who cannot participate in the event but would still like to support the tournament can do so by donating door prizes or items for the silent auction.

You can also sponsor a person accessing Community Living Brant services as well as buy 50-50 draw tickets for $5 each.

Organizations can support the tournament in many ways, including hole and tee and sponsorships, as well as through other donations.
