Project Search

Project SEARCH is a unique school-to-work training program for students with disabilities. Students are immersed at a host business and get more than 700 hours of hands-on work experience geared to in-demand roles in the local labour market. They learn employability skills and plan their careers with guidance from a teacher and skills trainers. A local employment agency supports graduates and their employers.

Project | SEARCH offers total workplace immersion (3 work placements, 700+ hours of hands-on experience) for students with Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (MID, DD, ASD)

  • Singular goal is competitive employment in an integrated setting in the community.
  • Student learns transferable skills at host site that can support a variety of employment opportunities in their community.
  • Creates an atmosphere of high expectations.
  • Worldwide at 650+ host job sites.
  • 75% of Project | SEARCH Canada graduates secure quality employment within a year of graduation.
  • Community agency linked with the program supports the student’s education, employment training as well as employment search following graduation.
