      Program Leader Shares How Belonging Brant is ‘Essential’ to Building a Vibrant, Inclusive Community

      Ali Carson first became connected with Belonging Brant when she was looking for a drop-in program for 2SLGBTQ+ families — but at first, she couldn’t find what she was looking for.

      So, realizing there was a need for a drop-in program for 2SLGBTQ+ families, Belonging Brant helped Ali launch one.

      “Belonging Brant helped me at every step of the way to launch a queer families’ drop-in program,” Ali says. “They led and guided me in filling a need that was evident in the community.”

      When Marcia Pereira looks at the projects people across Brant County have created to help build stronger communities through the Belonging Brant initiative, she sees important needs being filled.

      She says the Belonging Brant initiative is vital to community wellness and is deserving of full, long-term funding in order to keep it thriving.
