John Farley, President

John’s areas of expertise are financial and business, which were developed over his 39 year career in banking, business consulting and community based development lending.

Marylou Chatland, Past-President

Marylou is a retired Elementary School Teacher. She worked for the Grand Erie District School Board in Brantford for 32 years with children from SK to Grade 8.  She brings a family perspective to the Board.

Debi Pickering, Vice-President  

Debi has been the Office Manager of her husband’s Property Development business for 27 years and also brings a family perspective to the Board.

Scott Hawthorn, Treasurer

Scott is a self-employed entrepreneur with wide reaching experience in business and government.

Cate Breaugh, Secretary

Cate offers a family/consumer perspective.  She has been a successful volunteer advocate for children with disabilities and their families.  She has experience in public relations, communications, government relations, and strategic thinking.


Rebecca Chapple, Director

Rebecca is a Special Education Resource Teacher and has been employed by the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board since 2001.

Kwabena Gyetuah, Director

Kwabena is a fourth-year student studying Health Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University.  He was selected through the Youth Leaders on Board Program at Laurier.

Bruce Jones, Self-Advocate Director

Bruce is supported by Community Living Brant and currently is the Vice-President of the R.E.A.C.H. Out Self-Advocates Committee. He is also a member of the agency’s Quality Enhancement Committee.

Darelene Manzer-Hall, Director

Darlene offers a family perspective.  She is a parent and also brings her experience from having careers in the construction/engineering business, specifically accounting management, purchasing and estimating, and the equestrian field.  Her final studies were at Mount Saint Vincent University.  She has volunteered with the CNIB, Parent Association at W. Ross Macdonald School,  and Canadian Council for the Blind.

Philip Scott, Director

Philip is a creative and active volunteer at Rogers TV and is also involved in community theatre. He also actively plays in a band. He is a Drum instructor for the Arts After School Kids Program.

Pam Papez, Director

Pam has experience in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a focus on gerontology through her career as a Recreation Therapist. She is very active with the Girl Guides. She also brings a family perspective to the Board.
