Some health related advicefrom Healthy Canadians Extreme heat events are hard on everyone, but they pose a greater risk to older adults. Before an extreme heat event begins, be prepared with these tips: - Check the air conditioner or identify a cool space. Doing this before the heat arrives will help to keep you cool when it gets hot. - Plan for frequent wellness checks on those you know who are more vulnerable. Know the signs of heat-related illnesses and what to do if you notice them. - Create a list of medications that can be shared with a health care provider, since some medications can interfere with the body’s ability to cope with heat.
