Positions Available

1. Belonging Brant Supervisor

Posting #: M2/2020

Belonging Brant, a Community Living Brant Project, has been funded by The Ontario Trillium Foundation. The purpose of the project is to decrease isolation and increase connection in these uncertain times. Partners in this project include: the Brantford Public Library, Grand River Community Health Centre and Community Legal Clinic Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk (Lead Program), Brant County Health Unit and local associations, such as Eagle Place Community Association and Holmedale Neighbourhood Association.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and creative in their approach to react to a changing environment to align the project appropriately and achieve targets. Requirements and skills in the role include:

  • Background in community development and/or engagement
  • Project management including budget management and experience managing staff as a part of a project
  • Social media management and communications plan development
  • Action oriented and gift centred
  • Knowledgeable of local community assets and forming connections
  • Skills in citizen engagement
  • Leveraging and supporting community leaders in their development
  • Setting up training and/or workshops
  • Ability to work with Project Partners
  • Event coordination for the Annual Symposium
  • Responsible for launching and ongoing implementation of project
  • Work with evaluator to ensure timely reporting as per the funding agreement

2. Supervisor

We are seeking a Supervisor:

  • to facilitate supports for individuals that:
  • assist with achievement of goals and personal outcomes
  • build relationships and community connections
  • to provide leadership that includes:
  • the development of strong teams
  • providing leadership and guidance to staff
  • performing administrative duties including scheduling, payroll, budgets, etc.
  • to support community in developing inclusive approaches through
  • partnership development
  • Community conversation
  • whole community thinking

Candidates should have:

A degree or diploma in Human Services combined with proven supervisory experience; preferably in a unionized environment; experience working with a diverse range of people, including those who experience isolation; Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and on-call rotation are required; experience in community development or community engagement is an asset.

3. Part-time Developmental Services Program Assistant

Closing Date:  Ongoing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with community connections and life experience.
  • Post-secondary education or experience in human services, an asset
  • Must have valid Ontario G driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certificate, an asset
  • Good attendance record

SALARY: $20.95 to $22.77 per hour

Successful candidates will be required to provide the following items at their own expense prior to the commencement of employment:

  • A satisfactory medical including  a TB test & Hepatitis B screening 
  • Vulnerable Sector Police check (less than 2 months old)
  • Children’s Aid Society Check                                                                                       
  • 3 year Driving Record to be obtained from the Ministry of Transportation
  • Confirmation of valid driver’s license and auto insurance
