The Perfect Fit: Innovative Employment Strategies Summit is geared for Employment Specialists, Direct Support Professionals and Managers. The focus will be on:
- promoting a person’s passions and gifts to find meaningful employment
- how to apply the positives to discover skills and go where the dream makes sense
- learning how customized employment can lead to an inclusive labour market
- enable people’s success at work through the use of technology
Keynote Speaker Don Gallant, National Director of Ready, Willing, and Able will focus on enabling meaningful employment and what are the elements of a truly inclusive labour market. Keynote Speaker Shaun Wood, Program Manager for the Washington Initiative on Supported Employment will focus on four key suggestions to make individualized competitive employment possible for all.
Special closing speaker, Joe Erpenbeck from Northwestern University’s Asset Based Community Development Institute will share about the power of building reciprocal relationships and how our efforts in employment and building connections transform our neighbourhoods..
